Today's picture and a Simenon quote

Outside the wind was still blowing from the north, and the daylight was uniformly cool and hard with, however, behind the massed cloud, a hint of yellow, which was like a promise of sunshine.

From the story, Seven Small Crosses in a Notebook
by Georges Simenon

  1. I love seeing your snow! Thank you for sharing its beauty and the hint of the sun. (I check the Plymouth State University weathercam almost daily.)

    1. Amazing that you do that! My boy went to school there. Hint is all it was yesterday, but today is bright and sunshiny!

  2. Very fitting quote for the picture - or very fitting picture for the quote? :-)
No snow left here; we've been having strong winds last night (and it is still blowing hard out there as I am typing this at 6:34 am) with rain and even some thunder. But I guess there will be snow this weekend, it certainly is cold enough for it.

    1. I read the passage the day before and was amazed to see that sun. It must be just what Simenon meant!
